Introduce yourselves…

Hello, we're Lyerr from Manchester (50% Rochdale, 50% Bury - but it's always easier to say Manchester).

Describe your sound in five words…

Delicious, outrageous, decent. Indie rock.

Influences...

We've all got varied music tastes (You don't want to be in James' car on the way to a far away gig) but it's hard to stray too far away from bands such as Arctic Monkeys who were massive to each of us growing up. More recently we've been influenced by bands like The Amazons and some of the stuff they are coming out with. I like to think we draw inspiration from all over though rather than just from one particular sound or genre.

Highlight of your career so far...

This year we won a competition through Virgin Records & Andy Bell and got named 'Manchester's best new band' in the process. We got flown out to headline the legendary Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles as part of that. It was great to spend time around Andy Bell and get advice from him from his experiences with Ride & Oasis, though we must admit we were slightly jealous that he was going playing some dates with The Cure not long after this. Andy has since come up to our rehearsal room in Manchester off his own back and given us a bunch of advice for things we hadn't really considered before so we're super grateful for that. The rainy Manchester skies have lost a bit of their appeal since though.
