THIS FEELING
A momentous evening’s entertainment in the making at FAC251 on Friday 16th March as ‘London’s most rock ‘n’ roll night out’, This Feeling, arrives in Manchester armed with no fewer than five of the country’s most important up-and-coming acts, along with DJ sets from indie rock royalty, The Coral, and Jim and Tim of the XFM Breakfast Show.
Local heroes, Janice Graham Band, sound like the mutant offspring of The Specials and The Happy Mondays and have a reputation for creating a unique carnival atmosphere during frenzied live shows... Expect truly rousing ska-pop from a band whose confident swagger belies their tender years...
From the capital, enchanting Brit-pop revivalists, Sulk, will be stirring up 90s harmonies inspired by the likes of The Stone Roses, Suede, Pulp and The Verve, creating music of majesty with sun-drenched vocals, ethereal guitars and pounding percussion.
Otherworldly Scouse songsmiths, and relatives of The Coral, The Sundowners, will be cooking up a musical melting pot of influences including Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills and Nash and, of course, The Coral. Great tunes, great haircuts and Paul Weller is a fan – what more could you need?
And another of Manchester’s hottest new bands, Where’s Strutter?, will be showcasing the kind of fiery rock and roll delirium that has seen them packing out increasingly larger venues of late, as well as commanding support slots with the likes of Ocean Colour Scene and Pete Doherty.
