.Big things brewing down at This Feeling on Saturday July 9th, where The Queen of Hoxton welcomes, indie-rock royalty, Jon Brookes and Martin Blunt of THE CHARLATANS on to the hallowed decks and plays host to an exciting array of talent from fast growing EMI offshoot label One Beat Records.
TANTRUMS will dazzle you with a fresh breed of edgy and energetic pop-punk, encompassing driving guitar anthems adorned with a dizzying spectrum of sounds and a truly magnetic live performance.
THE CARPELS, who list Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem as major influences and have been working with Jim Spencer of New Order and Doves fame, will be peddling their own unique brand of new-wave post-punk, which has earned their work comparisons with the song craft of The Coral and the raucous energy of The Libertines.
Completing the stellar line up is psychedelic indie-pop outfit, DEADBEAT ECHOES - four teenagers with a penchant for the darker side of pop, drawing influences from Joy Division and Echo & The Bunnymen.
Also on the bill playing a special TF showcase…
Missing Andy; This Essex 5 - piece are part of today’s growing disenfranchised youth and their ‘fist in the air’ songs deal with thorny social issues that a lot of other bands choose to shy away from. Their thought provoking lyrics and their swaggering stance is cut from the same cloth as The Jam, The Clash and fused with The Specials, making a contradiction of modern nostalgia, fuelled by angst-ridden aggression.
