The Smokin’ Barrels, three lads from Newcastle, are certainly a band to keep a very close eye on in 2012...

After only three months of gigging, they performed to a thousand-strong crowd at the prestigious Newcastle O2 Academy supporting Kasabian, and the bands brash fusion of punk and rock and roll is really causing people to sit up and take notice.

Noel Gallagher has tipped the boys for big things, saying: "They've got something… a bit like Kasabian and a bit like Oasis. What's not to like? They just need to put in a bit of hard graft." They support Noel at his Newcastle Arena show Feb 23rd and play TF Feb 11th.
